Successful season ends in CAC semis
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Catholic had one of its most productive years come to a close as Salisbury ended first-year head coach Maggie Lonergan's season at 15-12, as the Sea Gulls prevailed 70-57 in the CAC Tournament semifinal. The game was played on the campus on the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. Seniors Meg Hagarty (Rockledge, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) and Liz Mintzer (Berwyn, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) each scored 10 points apiece as the two played their last game as a Cardinal.

Meg Hagarty scored 10 points against Salisbury in her final game to bring her career total to 1,286.
After a jumper from Mintzer to tie it at 4-4 three minutes into the game, Salisbury went on a 13-2 run to open the lead. Two free throws by the Sea Gulls' Jamie Kohlenstein with two seconds in the half gave Salisbury a 34-19 at the break.

In the second half Salisbury used a 15-2 run to go up by as much as 27 points. Catholic would rally to get within 10 points late but could not get closer.

The Sea Gulls' Amy Campion led all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Pam Kenney added 16 points in the win.

Salisbury (22-4) moves on to the CAC Tournament championship to face Marymount on Saturday.

It was a season of good tidings for the Cardinals and coach Lonergan. The squad earned its first winning season since the 1988-89 season and got the most wins (15) since the 1985-86 season. Hagarty finishes her CUA career with 1,286 points putting her in fifth place on the all time scoring list.
